Avis de décès de Dorothy Lee Martin
AUX SOINS DE

Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Homes

It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother Dorothy Lee Martin, also known as Dolly or Lee Martin.

Dorothy Lee Martin passed away on October 30th, 2020 at the age of 80 at the CHSLD residence Argyle in Saint-Lambert, Quebec.

She was struggling with many health complications, such as pneumonia and infections, following her recovery from Covid-19.

Dorothy was born on March 14th, 1940 on a Mi’qmaq reserve Listuguj, Quebec. She was the youngest and last surviving child of William Pierre Martin and Emma Condo.

She was predeceased by her sisters: Bernice Anne Martin, Francis Margie Martin, brothers: Alfred Condo Martin, William P. Martin Jr. (Billy Boy),

John J. Martin (Johnny Bone), Albert Daniel Martin (Slim), Elie Wallace Martin (Wally Moon), Mathew Martin, Walter James Martin and infant brother and sister.

She was also predeceased by her two sons Kenneth Andrew Shaw and Lonny Shaw.

Left to mourn her passing and preserve her memory are her boyfriend David Muir, her children Brenda Lee Shaw, Daniel Eugene Shaw, Beverly Carole Shaw,

Jarrod Buckley Martin and his spouse Marianne Mehalik.

She will also be missed by her grandchildren Eric, Mark, Nathaniel, Steven, Stephanie Getty and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dorothy was a brave woman and a survivor of abuse from Indian residential and day schools.

She had a beautiful soul and loved her life starting in Listiguj and ending at the South shores of Montreal, Quebec.

In her last years she was frail in body but stronger than 12 bulls in spirit.

We will always remember the beautiful smile and sense of humour our mother gave to us and others.

Ginu gesaluet gi'l lapjiw giju.

Due to the current pandemic crisis which has created lockdowns and limited travel, a service and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
