Predeceased by her parents, Walter Webb and Ruth Galbraith, and her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Archibald Campbell.
She leaves behind in mourning her loving husband of 59 years, George, her sister Susan Upham (the late Jim), her two sons Ken (Anna), and David (Dawn) and her daughter Catherine (David), as well as two grandsons (Peter and Jacob).
She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Austrom (Sidney) and Audrey Befus (Clay), as well as 19 nieces and nephews, and 21 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Betty was a proud and active member of both the St-Lambert United Church and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She graduated from Concordia University in Library Sciences and worked at the McGill Library (McLennan) for over 15 years.
With a wonderful knack of creating and maintaining friendships, Betty was always happiest when talking with friends, visiting family, or laughing and playing with her grandsons. B.J. was kind-hearted, and always made sure the spotlight shone on others while she remained in the background making things happen.
In honour of her wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 1 PM. Those wishing to watch online should contact the family for details. Care entrusted to Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 307 Riverside Drive, St-Lambert, Québec.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cedars Cancer Foundation, through the McGill University Health Centre, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
