Mme Power was an amazing woman. I will always cherish the memories of travelling to Europe and China with her, and for her calm and inspiring presence as my teacher and mentor. My deepest sympathies to her family.

Sincères sympathies à toute la famille de Marie-France, à ses enfants tout particulièrement que j'ai connus quand ils étaient étudiants à Chambly County High School. J'ai rencontré Marie-France il y a 35 ans. C'est facile de s'en rappeler car j'enseignais à CCHS et elle m'a remplacée lors de mon 2e congé de maternité. Elle s'est vite taillée une place dans les curs du personnel et des étudiants et a poursuivi sa carrière d'enseignante à l'école. Chaleureuse, persévérante et travaillante, Marie-France traitait ses élèves comme des membres de sa famille. Elle était impliquée dans l'organisation de la collation des diplômes et du comité qui organisait le Bal des finissants alors elle avait la chance de pouvoir dire  au revoir  à ceux et celles qu'elle avait accompagnés lors de leur parcours à l'école. Courageuse, elle a vécu plusieurs deuils dont celui de son mari. C'est Marie-France qui m'avait dit qu'une personne pouvait vivre 25 ans dans la Ville de Québec, sa ville natale, et être encore perçue comme une étrangère. Heureusement pour les élèves et le personnel de CCHS, Marie-France se sentait chez elle parmi nous et à Saint-Lambert. Et sa philosophie personnelle était celle de St-Exupéry :  On ne voit bien qu'avec le cur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.  Repose en paix, Marie-France.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Power's ("Madame") passing.  She was a wonderful teacher who really engaged with her students.   Though I only had her for once class (Grade 9 French in 92/93), I still remember her fondly due to her kind encouragement and personal, caring skills with her students.

My condolences to the whole family. Mme Power was an amazing teacher who had a profound effect on many students. Her smile was as big as her heart. She will be remembered fondly by all whose lives she entered.

Madame, I'm so sad that you were taken from us but so happy to have shared a lifetime of great memories. From high school, right up to  last week. I will cherish them all. You will never be forgotten. May you now rest in peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with You the Power / Blanchette family at this time. Remember as the days and weeks will pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comfort and support from your friends and working colleagues. ‘‘  Those we held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever  ’’.

Sincere condolences to the entire family. Marie-France had a huge heart and it showed day in and day out. Countless people were blessed with having her as a friend and teacher. I will never forget the fond memories I have from high school and being close neighbors. Rest in Peace.

Indian dessert Laddu will always remind you Mrs. Power. On Indian festival  Diwali I brought Indian Dessert Laddu to school.  The left over I gave to staff members. Some I gave to Mrs. Power to take home as I really liked her and respected her. Next day she informed me that Mr. Power liked it a lot so when ever I bought Laddus I bought for Mrs. Power & Mr. Power too and gave it to Mrs. Power. I always got my container back with very tasty home made cookies made with a real touch of love. After Mr. Power passed away when ever I bought Laddus I recollected Mr. Power but now I think Laddus will always remind me, you  both Mrs. Power. I liked your elegant dressing sense Loved & respected you always. A classy soft spoken teacher rarely found.  God give peace to her soul and strength to the family to bear this great loss.

Mimi touched everyone who met her in positive ways and left the world a better place.  Rest in peace

My brother and I were very greatful to have such an excellent french teacher, and such a great chaperon on our Europe trip(s). Rest easy, Mrs. P

Mme Power was an excellent teacher who gave even the most reluctant of students a desire to learn. She left a big impact on my life and I still think of her often even 10 years after my high school graduation. 

My condolences to her loved ones. May she rest in peace.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. She was much loved and appreciated by all of us who worked and laughed with her and her time with us was much too short.
