I am so sad to hear of the loss of Alice and often think of my time at Cicero's working in the front of the house.  It was a great time.  Alice would often come in to make her famous chicken salad.  She and I would sit at a table by the window taking a break from the lunch crowd and have great conversation.  She was darling - fun and just so lovely.  She is a wonderful memory for me as are all of the Jacobs family that I was so lucky to know.  My heartfelt thoughts are with you all.

Shawn, my deepest sympathy to you and your family members on the loss of Alice. My memories of her go back to when we were young and playing between Syracuse and Heman streets in the Delmar Loop. May her name be a blessing to all who loved her.

Alice was a big part of my life for the past seven years.  She was such a special friend and gracious enough to open up her world and family to our group of friends. Alice was a friend, co-worker, beloved boss, and a beautiful woman. I looked forward to Mondays and Wednesdays when she would come into Cicero's and help in any way that she could.  Refilling the sugar caddies, making her famous chicken salad, Hostessing and visiting with the patrons as if they were family!. Alice always wanted to hear the news of all the goings on of the restaurant, the good or the bad, the happy or the sad, she wanted to keep her pulse on the heart of Cicero's.  Alice was so stylishly dressed with purse and jewels to match!  She would ask me to sit and share her lunch on many occasion, being ever so gracious.  Alice adored her family and often could be seen at the restaurant with Shawn entertaining at a long table when relatives and friends were in town.  Alice often brought pictures in to the restaurant or told stories that she held so dear regarding family and friends.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Shawn, Trisha, Chad, Dana and Derek and all of your loved ones.  Alice you will always be in our hearts...  Our Cicero's family will forever mourn the loss of its matriarch...

I have memories in my pocket.

Alice will forever be remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
