She spent her first 21 years in Toledo with her loving parents, Dr. Meyer and Evelyn (Sundock) Seligman, before moving to St. Louis. Once there, she was introduced to Stanley Cohen on a blind date by a friend, Kenneth Kornbloom. The two fell in love, were married, and began their life together in Olivette, Missouri. Their family was completed by the births of two sons, Michael (Sandee) and Mark (Karen).
Anita worked as a dental hygienist for many years, proudly retaining her license throughout her adult life. She became a homemaker, taking care of Stanley and their sons, as well as a great supporter of Garco Wine. She was always excited to be a “part of the party”, socializing with family and friends.
When her grandchildren arrived, she became Nee Nee to Marissa (Colin) Heyer, Daniel (Renee) Cohen, Bryce (Marissa) Cohen, Kayleigh (Tanner) Edge, Ross Cohen, and Clark Cohen. Later came great grandchildren Camryn and Riley Heyer, Everett Cohen, Casen and Adaline Cohen, and Ellis Edge. Anita absolutely lit up whenever they were around.
Anita will be celebrated by her family and friends at a visitation and funeral service beginning at 9:30 AM on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Berger Memorial Chapel, 9430 Olive Blvd., Olivette, Missouri. Internment will immediately follow at United Hebrew Cemetery, 7855 Canton Ave., University City, Missouri.
Family and friends are invited to a remembrance reception beginning at 12:30 PM at United Hebrew Congregation, 13788 Conway Rd., Chesterfield, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
