Barbara Ann Bodine

Barbara was born August 19, 1938 in Evanston, Illinois to the late Augustus Lutz and Caroline Zenobia (Stuart) Charles and was known to the immediate family as Bobbie. Dance, gymnastics and horseback riding were her interests growing up. She graduated from Evanston Township High School and married the late Ralph Bodine (1938-2015) in 1957. In 1963, she and Ralph moved to St. Louis, MO and remained there 45 years, until moving to St. Charles, MO to be closer to family.

Barbara worked as a manager for Claire’s Boutique for 25 years and then went on to work in the gift shop at Christian North East Hospital for another 10 years.

She enjoyed reading and spent many years attending Muny performances. She was a 20 year breast cancer survivor and remained active in her survivor group and yearly cancer walks until her health stopped her. She played bridge with Pat Zerillo, Eileen Klein and Barb Reddington for over 40 years. She loved traveling to Phoenix to visit her sister (Carolyn Maseman/ age 90) and niece (Dr. Lynn Ashby).

Barbara leaves behind her children, Linda Hoff, Eric Bodine (Karla) and Timothy Bodine (Sara); 7 grandchildren, Megan Manning (Neil), Brent Jamison, Ryan, Matthew and Rachel Bodine, Rhonda Phelps and Charlie Bodine; and 5 great-grandchildren, William, Conner, Emma and Sophia Manning and Aniyah Baker. She will be missed by many others as well.
