She was born on August 20, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, she is the daughter of James Theodore and Marple Owens Wilson.
In an era marked by resilience and hope, Carolyn lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy that will endure for generations to come. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles James Whitaker, Jr.
Carolyn's warmth and nurturing nature were best exemplified in her roles as a devoted spouse and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Her gentle and loving nature can be found in her poetry and writings, which she was very passionate about.
She is survived by her son, Charles Chuck (Michelle) Whitaker of Fenton, MO, her daughter, Elizabeth (Keith) Julius of Danville, KY, four grandchildren, Alexandra, Nathan, Noah, and Elijah, and six great-grandchildren, Mercer, Lochlan, Anastasia, Marree, Ryamas, and Janiya.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 23,2024 from 12:00 -2:00 pm at the Hoffmeister South County Chapel 1515 Lemay Ferry Road. St. Louis, MO 63125.
Memorial service will be held during the visitation.
