Donald Anthony Foushee

Donald Anthony Foushee, age 81, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Don was born April 30, 1941 to Robert and Elsie (nee Mattei) Foushee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Foushee, and his beloved son, Tony Foushee.

Don leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia (nee Lyons). Don is survived by his children, Doug (Frine) Foushee, Linda Foushee, and Cindy (Greg) Berberich. He was a loving grandpa to Amanda Freivogel; Hayden, Maia, Giselle, and Evie Berberich; and Sam and Tom Foushee; and a loving great-grandpa to Nathaniel Freivogel.

Don served in the US Navy from 1961-1965. He began dating Pat prior to joining the Navy. Pat was the girl Don fell in love with and they wrote to each other every day while he was on active duty. Shortly after discharge, they were married on May 15, 1965. Don went on to become an electrical engineer who worked at various locations throughout his long career.

There are not adequate words to describe Don’s personality and character. He was intelligent, clever, creative, and entertaining. Eternally young at heart, Don was offbeat and one of a kind. A wonderful storyteller with a great sense of humor, Don loved to share his experiences with others. The tales Don told about his school days and time in the Navy were enjoyed by everyone. Reading and studying history were two of his favorite activities, yet his children and grandchildren were the greatest joys in his life.

Don brought great happiness into the lives of those who loved him. He will be greatly missed by his family and longtime friends.

A visitation for Donald will be held Monday, October 24, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4556 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. A Funeral Mass will occur following the visitation. A committal service will occur Monday, October 24, 2022 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan, Jefferson Barracks, MO 63125 where Donald will receive Military Honors for his service in the United States Navy.
