Linda, it is with the deepest sympathy that we acknowledge yours and your family's loss with Don's transitioning.

From 1965 until now, we have continually considered Don and you among our most memorable business acquaintances and friendships.

To Linda, Andy, Amy and Bonnie.  It has been many years since our last contact, but I have many fond memories of Don.  He always managed to make me laugh with his wry sense of humor.  I will miss him, too.

My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead.

Although we only met once in person, I feel as if I have known Mr. Yatkeman through his daughter Amy, for 20 years.  She embodies his spirit through her sense of humor, empathy, and commitment to family and community. I hope the Yatkeman family is comforted by the exemplary life their father led.  His work in the St. Louis area, his devotion to his family, and his position as President of the Optimists club, truly speak to the man he was.

My thoughts & prayers are with your family Linda. Don and I traveled on the same train of life for many years;perhaps, we didn't sit together often,but my memories of him are very positive. I am sorry that I didn't reconnect with him by attending those Men's Breakfast Club meeting because I would have learned more about his wonderful contributions to life and St. Louis in general.  He colored our lives. God Bless him and you all.

I have always admired how close your family is and the wonderful stories you've shared. I hope that you will find strength and comfort during this very sad time in the memories you have of your amazing dad (husband). You are all in my prayers.

Dear Aunt Linda, Andy, Amy, and Bonnie,

How sad I am to hear of Uncle Don's passing.  

I have amazing memories of him from my childhood.  He had such a way of involving children in his interests and life.  

I remember hearing Amy talk about going in to work with him and thought that was the coolest thing ever!

I remember walking with him on the Walk with Israel walk and he gave us special tips on how to walk so that we would not get tired and could go a really long way-- and they worked!

He could even make waxing his car something that all the children wanted to help with!

I also remember his tenderness for animals which must have run in the family since I remember my dad being like that, too.

And the evening he surprised us by showing up in his fire truck at my 12th birthday party and taking all the girls out for ice cream-- Well, that was extraordinary (how many girls have an uncle show up at their birthday party in a firetruck to take them and their friends out for ice cream!)  But, in another way, that was ordinary-- for him-- He was always one to surprise and delight with the unique and unexpected!

I also remember what a happy marriage you and Uncle Don seemed to have-- how much you seemed to enjoy each others company.  I still have vivid images in my mind of Uncle Don doing silly things and Aunt Linda saying, "Don!" in a playfully irritated, loving tone!

I'm sure you do and will miss him terribly.

My condolences for the loss of Don. But we are all better for having known him for so many years.  Even when I had not seen him for many months, I never felt that we did not connect.  He was a very unique soul.
