Dorothy moved to St. Louis for nurses training at Deaconess Hospital. Following her training she had a long career as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was married to the love of her life, Ralph, her high school sweetheart, who she loved to the very end. Her hobbies included bowling, gardening, baking, and needlepoint. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical church. For the past few years she enjoyed activities with and the friendship of the Red Hat ladies. She also loved her “stories” and grilled cheese sandwiches with chips and milk.
Mom twice fought courageous battles against cancer and won by never giving up or giving in. Our family is particularly appreciative of the staff at Dr. Alvin Schergen’s office; Dr. Ehab Kaiser of Laclede Groves; and the kind staff at the de Greeff Hospice House at St. Anthony’s. Memorials may be made to the de Greeff Hospice House or cancer society of your choice.
