May he rest in peace.  He was a good man. Especially  a good father, grandfather,  great grandfather.  
I loved him for what a man he was. The best grandfather  to my sons, Zecharias & Mattheios. 
I hope my son's find comfort, peace and tranquility like the rest of the family in those dark days.
May he rest in peace.

It was Christmas Eve, 2019. The whole family was in my Grandfathers living room and one of Don’s grandchildren Zech started watching something on YouTube, something he did not know existed. He proceeded to be amazed that he could watch Jim Edmonds highlights from back in the day. My cousin Zech could not believe he had never heard of YouTube before and that night he probably watched Jim Edmonds highlights for an hour. Grandpa always had a way of making everyone smile and be happy and always supported me at all of my basketball and soccer games throughout the years. He was truly special and will be missed by many. Also, don’t sit in his seat at the kitchen table or even think about drinking out of his blue cup. (Picture is him finding out he could watch Jim Edmond highlights)

Uncle Don was always so sweet to me even though I did not get to visit or really get to know him since my mom and dad moved out of St Louis when I was just 6 weeks old to a place in the boonies and far from all my Aunts and Uncles and cousins.  I love you Uncke Don and you will definately be missed.

Don and I grew up in  St. Louis South city near 9th and LaSalle streets. We did everything together including Khoury  league baseball. He was the catcher and I was the pitcher. I still have PD news clippings..
We also sold newspapers starting at the age of 8 where we got 1.3 cents for each one sold... We would shop for shirts with our newspaper $$ and end up at Katz drug store where we would eat a sandwich and always flipped the coin to see who would pay!   
We played baseball at 8th street park, basketball at Kingdom house, and other youthful activities around the “ole” neighborhood.
Our first round of golf in our late teens was Forest Park, as on the spare of the moment, while driving through the park decided we, Don, our good friend Chick Stotts and myself would give it a try.
We were adjoined with a retired fireman who we discovered was 70 years old for which we thought at the time “we hoped we could JUST be able to walk” at age 70 much less play golf.
Later years we decided to try the west coast to find our “pot of gold” supposedly at the end of “that rainbow” which was a short lived, but not before we made many memories, some of which we could never tell!!!! Then we moved back to StLouis.
Don became an avid golfer and was very active with his golf league at Columbia Illinois course.  Regularly as I visited St Louis we always had a golf match, “Loser bought the beerS” 
I had a routine on Dons Birthday each year when I would call him to ask “how does it feel (to be whatever age at that time) since in two days I would be that same age!!!
His family is a testament of his dedication to them. He was so proud as they progress developing there respective families and kept me up to date on many of the events and activities..
Don was much more than a friend to me as he was always considered part of our family and will certainly be missed..

I loved you Uncle Don. You loved all of us kids and made sure we had a good time when you were around. I'll miss you.
