Dom, George Arleigh of St. Louis, MO. Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church and was received into God’s loving arms on Friday March 18, 2011 at the gallant age of 94. He was the son of the late Arleigh and Gussie Dom of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dad goes to join his beloved “Missy D.” after only 9 months apart. Married nearly 69 years, they were inseparable even to death. He was the beloved father of Arleigh C. Dom of Chicago, Ill. and Pattie Dom of Webster Groves, MO. He will be missed as a father, uncle, great uncle and brother-in-law. His good friends will all miss him, especially Patty Browne, Sr. Carrol Coble, O.P., Carol Wehling, Stephen O’Connell, Diane and Charles Bell and Laverne Harris.
Dad was an aeronautical engineer who was especially proud of his contribution to the aerospace industry. He worked for Lockheed Martin and Boeing from which he retired. He was influential in the fledgling F 15 project as well as the earliest sea planes and the Viking sub-orbital rocket.
He traveled extensively during his career for both companies. After retirement, he stayed active in the Sages volunteer program as well as Executive Service Corps of St. Louis, as a consulting vice-president. Dad loved his career, his family and was a man of great faith. He will be sorely missed.
