Imelda H. (nee Hartz) Garbarini, age 93, of St. Louis, MO (formerly of Memphis, TN), passed away peacefully surrounded in love on January 3, 2024. Preceded in death by Joseph Peter Garbarini Sr., her beloved husband of over 56 years. Dearest mother of Joseph Peter II (Delores), John Michael, Carol Ann Keller (Jeff), Robert Ernest, Mary Catherine Flesher (Greg) and Joanna Marie Rein (Philip); loving grandmother of Joseph Peter III Garbarini, Brian Garbarini, Jennifer Stasi (Mike), Tony Garbarini (Katie), Alex Garbarini (Martha), Ricky Kallaus, Mark Hale, Chris Garbarini (Kristina), Kate Garbarini and Nicholas Hale (Desi); and cherished great grandmother of Kennedy Stasi, Peyton Stasi, Jackson Hale, Llewelyn Garbarini, and Henry Hale; our dear mother-in-law, aunt, and friend of many.
Besides raising her six children, Mel had a longtime career in banking in both Memphis and St. Louis. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and would talk about them to anyone who would listen. She loved to cook and sew and was one of the biggest fans of the St. Louis Cardinals. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
A memorial mass for Imelda will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 1510 Bopp Road, Des Peres, MO 63131.
