Janet A. Lengyel

Janet A. Lengyel, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, after a prolonged illness that she managed with grace and a cheerful spirit. Wife, stepdaughter, stepsister, stepmother and step-grandmother, Janet was born November 4, 1946, the only child of George and June Athanas (nee Johnson).

She worked in retail cosmetics for Dillards. She valued both maintaining her appearance and spending time with those who brought her joy. She amassed a treasure trove of trinkets, pictures, and mementos that were reminders of important events and cherished people in her life.

Preceded in death by husband Joe, her parents, and stepfather Tom Fitzgerald. Survived by many in the Fitzgerald, Lengyel, Ryan, Kennedy, and Moore families.

Sincere appreciation extended to the staff at The Glen at Aberdeen Heights and Crown Hospice for their dedicated care and support.

Services: Memorial visitation at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125, Friday, February 27, from 1:00 p.m. until memorial service time at 1:30 p.m.

Interment will be held in private.
