Jene Howard Dutton

Jene Howard Dutton of St. Louis, MO, died on January 22, 2017 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Emily Christine Dutton (Purdle) of 64 years. Dear father of Debie (Greg) Pesek and the late Donald Dutton. Grandfather of Joseph, Jason, Jacob and Jenna Pesek. Dear brother of Arlene Biere. Devoted uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law and beloved friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Dutton.

Jene was a retired employee of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and a proud U.S. veteran of the Korean War. He was a former Scout Master of Troop 8 (Buder School in St. Louis) and received the Vigil Honor, Order of the Arrow and his Wood Badge Beads. Jene was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church for twenty-six years and a devoted Christian.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, with the service from the chapel at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery. In memory of Jene, donations can be made to Kirkwood Baptist Church, 211 N. Woodlawn, Kirkwood, MO 63122 or the Boy Scouts of America Greater St. Louis Council.
