I sure miss John. Taken from us too soon. He died on my birthday so it sort of dampens any celebration but I will drink a beer for him. RIP John.

Just found out today about John's passing. He was one of the nicest guys I ever worked with a Schaeffer Oil putting in gigantic weigh kettles. He was talented, helpful and friendly and I will miss him. He was 5 yrs older than me. We spoke about him enjoying vacationing down south maybe in N.C. in some cottage next to a babbling brook. I hope he finds that cottage in heaven.  RIP John.

I was fortunate enough to work with John. 
He was always happy and such a pleasure to work with. We used to brag about how great our wives were, allowing us to ride the motorcycles and hang with friends. He loved you Bonnie. I miss him. Fritz 


We moved into the neighborhood 19 years  ago and John was one of the first  people we met.  John always had  a  smile, a hearty laugh and an incredible willingness to help anyone in need.  We got involved in the local political scene because of John.  The residents of  West End Park owe John a big debt of gratitude for his constant support of their interests.  His life is an example of a life well lived.    John, you will be missed!

Johnnie was a good man but I knew him best as a kid; in the late '50's -'60's. It was that simpler time of short-sleeve madras shirts, khaki shorts, white socks, penny loafers and buzz cuts. He was quiet, patient and funny with this impish grin that always accompanied some bit of kind humor or slapstick prank. He always liked to make things, build things ...accidentally break things... and fix them up again. He built a good life for his family and made life good for those who had the good fortune to know him. I am honored to have been one of those.

My son wanted to make sure that all of Papa’s grandchildren were in the “paper  about Papa dying.”

So much love from them to an amazing Papa. 

John was a great brothers-in-law. When I think of him what comes to mind is he was always smiling. He also had a world of patience. I never saw him blow up or get angry.  He loved Bonnie , his children and grandchildren fiercely.  He liked to work hard and play hard. 
I remember driving to Lake of the Ozarks with him in his Little Red Corvette. Drinking  martini ‘s at some floating bar with a bunch of people laughing and telling jokes!! 
I still have his bottle of Crown Royal Don bought him a year ago. 

Hopefully heaven is doing some remodeling because they received an amazing contractor yesterday.  I’m grateful to have known John. He will truly be missed!!


May you rest in peace, John L Moffat. Forever in my heart, I hold memories of you and Bonnie. I will miss your smile, your laugh, your wisdom about so many practical things, and most of all your friendship. And I know Jesus loves fisherman!
