John D Wittenberg

Wittenberg, John D. baptized into the hope of Christ’s Resurrection on Monday, November 2, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Ann Marie Wittenberg; dear father of John D. (Kandy) Jr. and Joe (Shani) Wittenberg; dear grandfather of Alexandra, Jack, Lucy and Daniel Wittenberg; dear brother of Charles H. (Loretta) Wittenberg, Lee (Larry) Renaud and the late Thomas Wittenberg.

John graduated from Mercy High School in 1960 and St. Louis University in 1964. He married his college sweetheart, Ann, in 1965 and together they worked and played for over 50 years. John worked in the insurance industry and was a Vice President at C.J. Thomas. He also worked in the real estate industry as a sales associate and referral specialist. John was passionate about volunteering and participated in a number of different groups, including St. Blaise CYO, Jaycee's, the German Special Interest Group, the German American Committee, St. Louis Stuttgart Sister Cities, St. Louis Strassenfest, St. Louis Genealogical Society, the Arthritis Foundation, Southside Kiwanis, Missouri JCI Senate, and the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Disease support group. This last year he spoke at PHA support group meetings about the privilege of being a caretaker to loved ones. He had a big heart, an even bigger smile that we will all miss.

Funeral from Kriegshauser West Mortuary, 9450 Olive Blvd. (63132) on Saturday, November 7, 2015, 10:15 AM to The Incarnate Word Catholic Church, 13416 Olive Blvd (63017) for Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM.
