Linpailan Lu 96, February 1st, 1920 – January 22nd, 2016 originally from Taipei, Taiwan she lived in St. Louis, Mo for the past 35 years. Linpailan passed away peacefully on Friday January 22nd from age related circumstances. Linpailan was the daughter of LinChuan and ShiXue. Wife to YanJung Lu. Mother to Jai-Shian (Mei Lin), Chai Ping (Ling-Chu), Sue Wu (Ted), Chai Hsu (Shu Fei), Alice Shu Hui Lee (Kon Hweii) and Chai Pei (Lin Ching). Grandmother to 14. Great-grandmother of 10. Linpailan was known and loved by her family for her genuine love of life, ever present emotional bond, and wonderful sense of humor. Throughout her life Linpailan was quick of wit, rapid of pace, and could always warm an entire room with her smile. She was known as everyone’s grandma in St. Louis because of her stable presence at her son’s grocery store and all of her volunteer work with the many organizations that she donated her time and efforts. She was known by many for her friendly demeanor, but assertive way of establishing her right to do things her way… the right way. Every single child that she raised could rest assured they would be good citizens in the community. She was very humble and modest and would probably tell me not to write about her like this (sorry grandma). She was a devout Buddhist and true believer in Karma and was always doing charity work to help those in need. She was never a rich person if one were to measure this by financial status, but she was definitely rich when it came to love and the appreciation of life.
