Mary Jane Lynch (nee Pickel), fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away peacefully at the age of 107 on Dec. 18, 2025 at Mother of Good Counsel Home. Beloved wife of the late Joseph E. (d. 1993). Dearest mother of Edward J. (Regina Lindsey-Lynch), Jane M. and the late James O. (d. 2003). Cherished grandmother to Ted Lynch (Anna Hoskins) of Columbia, MO and Meredith Lynch (Tim Solinger) of Niskayuna, NY. She would have welcomed her first great-grandchild in early 2026. Dear aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt and friend to many.
Preceded in death by her loving parents Oliver N. and Dorothy A. Pickel, and loving sisters Dorothy A. Murray (d. Norval R.) and Marjorie Rickhoff (d. Leo J.), and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Mary Jane was a volunteer with the American Red Cross during World War 2 serving in the Pacific Theater (1944-46). Prior to starting her family, she was a secretary at Ralston Purina. She enjoyed traveling and often reminisced about her many trips. Most of all, she always said: “I love being a grandma!”.
Her family would like to thank the Sisters and staff at Mother of Good Counsel Home for the excellent care she received these last four years.
