To all who loved Mary, 

I am so very sorry for your loss! 

I don't really understand how this happened, but I have only just heard of Mary's passing when we came upon the obituary online while searching family history. In fact, I called the funeral home to verify that the 2014 date was not a typographical error, as I had assumed that it must have been January 14, 2015. I assume that you must have reached out to the family in Milwaukee in some way, but the message did not get through. I am so very sorry - I hope you did not think that we received the news and did not care enough to respond. Nothing could be farther from the truth. 

I have so many fond memories of Mary! My earliest memory is of when she sent me a package when I was very little, maybe 3 years old I think - maybe not even. I know there was a little silk pillow inside showing the St. Louis arch - I thought it was so fancy! I called her "Aunty Louis from St. Mary's" (instead of Aunty Mary from St Louis).  

I remember all this times she visited Milwaukee - usually staying at my parents' house. Mary was always smiling and had such a great sense of humor. Those visits were always such fun!

I'll never forget that she attended my wedding and reception and afterward she sent me a lovely written description of the entire event as a keepsake. So thoughtful! 

I remember going to see a play with her and my mother in Linconshire Illinois when my daughter Angela was just a baby - we had such a wonderful time!

Mary loved to travel and she and my mother went to Europe together - it was the first trip to Europe for both of them and they came back with wonderful stories. They traveled a lot together through the years. Mary visited us while we lived in Holland, too. That meant a lot. When my daughter was sick, Mary sent a beautiful card and included a story that she wrote, 'staring' my daughter - so very kind and thoughtful. 

When my mother passed away, Patti came to the memorial service and took lots of pictures to take home to Mary, so it was like having Mary there too. Patti shared wonderful stories about my mother. It meant so much to me. 

I am so very sorry for your loss - and I feel the loss too. I loved her and will always cherish my memories of her.  Like my mother, Mary had a faith that was so strong that she didn't think of it as 'faith', she thought of it as fact. I know that she's in heaven - with Kenny and with my mother, Kathleen Klosiewski, Richard, and Marilyn, whose birthday is today. Happy birthday, Marilyn! Give Aunty Mary a big hig for me!

I know how difficult it is to have your mother leave this earth.  The Good Lord has some beautiful things planned for her, though.  I can see from the photos on this site that she had a lot to be thankful for - a great family!  Always keep the good memories of your mom first in your thoughts. With time, even thoughts of "difficult times" will become something that you can look back on and be amazed how you got through them so well.  Peace to all of your family!

Mary Jane worked for me at Southwestern Bell in the 80's.  I will always remember her cheerfulness and her stories of her love for roller skating.  My condolences to her family.  She will be missed.

Dear Grandma, thank you for being the best Grandma ever! My favorite memory is when I taught you how to play Wii bowling on your visit to us in California, and then you went back to Friendship Village and won the Wii bowling tournament.
