Mary Sue Thirolf was Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. She passed from death into everlasting life, peacefully, on Friday October 28, 2022, at the age of 81, after a long and difficult illness.
Born September 15, 1941, to Margaret Cyriline “Cyrie” and Eugene M. Thirolf. Mary Sue grew up in St. Louis and graduated from The Academy of the Sacred Heart, “City House” in St. Louis (1958). She attended Maryville College.
She worked at Bryan Cave Law Firm with John (Jack) Danforth. She worked at Danforth Foundation, utilizing her strong writing and communication skills. She worked on Jack Danforth’s campaign for Attorney General of Missouri, and on his campaign for his US Senate race.
Mary Sue moved to Washington, DC, where she worked as an assistant for the Commissioner of the U.S. Postal Rate Commission. Later, returning to St. Louis, she put her excellent writing skills and coordinating as an Executive Assistant to work.
Mary Sue is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Lawrence Spieth, her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene M. Thirolf, Jr. and Maryellen Thirolf, and her many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Pillar, 401 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri, 63131, on November 4, 2022, at 9:30 am for visitation followed by a 10:00am Funeral Mass.
