My sweet cousin Matt.. So many good memories at grandma/grandpas home in Lemay, Mo. , out at Old Monroe,  the school picnics ...the fun rides...the fresh fish... and the list goes on and on.  Living in Texas for over 25 yrs., I have always remembered the sweet little cousin with such a good nature. Matt will be sorely missed and our prayers are with the entire family.

One deer season when Matt was just a kid,he was going to go to the farm with Paul and I. I told Matt to be ready when I got there to pick him up. When Paul and I arrived at Matt's house he was all packed and ready to go. He ran out of the house with his stuff so excited to be going with us. He put his belongings in the truck and away we went. We were almost to the farm when it became apparent that Matt was so excited to be going,he ran out of the house without shoes. We had extra boots so it wasn't a big deal. Good Bless You Matt. 


Not too long after I got my drivers license, uncle Matt told me deer were animals that tracked people so whenever I’m driving and I see one or almost hit one to proceed with caution. He said  the  deer would follow me for as long as a mile or 2 and might jump out in front of me.  So just because I didn’t hit it at the time didn’t mean I was in the clear because it would follow me and could jump out in front of me at anytime over the next mile or so. I believed him for the longest time and I still think of it when I’m driving and see a deer. 

One of my many many memories of Matt was camping down on Grandma Mary's lot and he was out there in the creek spear fishing. That was my first time seeing anyone do that, and every time he went down he would come back up with a fish. He sure loved the outdoors.
