Rev. Michael J. D. Sandweg

Beloved son of the late Gerard K., Sr. and Jane Katherine (nee Dunn) Sandweg; dear brother of the late Gerard K. (Susan Sheridan) Sandweg, Jr. and Susan C. Bresnahan; dear uncle of Anne (Philippe) Royall, Betsy (Bill) Blasingame, Patrick (Michelle) Bresnahan, and the late Ellen Bresnahan; dear great uncle of Charlotte and Camille Royall, Jonathan and Abby Blasingame, and Kaylee and Elayna Bresnahan; our dear cousin and friend to many.

Fr. Mike attended St. Rita and St. Ann parish schools, Christian Brothers College High School, St. Mary’s College, Winona, Minnesota, received Theological training at Kenrick Seminary, was ordained a priest on May 26, 1979, at the St. Louis Cathedral and said his first mass at St. Ann the following day. He continued his education with a Master’s and PhD from St. Louis University in St. Louis.

During his career with the St. Louis Archdiocese, he served as an associate or pastor of the following parishes: St. Andrew in Lemay, St. Simon in Concord Village, St. Pius V in St. Louis City, St. Peter’s in St. Charles, Our Lady of Good Counsel in North County, St. John the Baptist in St. Louis, St. Kevin in St. Ann, and his final posting was at St. Francis in Portage des Sioux. He taught at St. Mary High School from 1980 to 1982, then he taught at Duchesne High School from 1982 through 1984.

Services: Visitation at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 7530 Natural Bridge Rd., Normandy, MO 63121 from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am on Monday, February 3, 2025. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
