You are still in our thoughts and will be until that time when, under the watchful eyes of Dad and Mom, the Shelvy brothers are together forever.

So now you've gone home and you will never know how much I miss you until now, while you're looking down from heaven. My heart aches for you, but I hear in my head the words you used to say, " Baby, it's going to be okay". I mourn your loss for the memories we could have had. I know you're okay because God has his arms around you. I'll see you soon, and I know you'll be waiting for me. I miss you dad and love you.

Dear Mike, Today we will send you to your final resting place. I've learned alot about you in the last few days that I never knew. The loyalty you gave my son and the long phone conversations you had with my daughter. You were a great father, uncle, brother, brother- in- law and grandfather. God saw you getting tired,

The fact that you were and are loved need not be mentioned as it is understood.

I won't talk about the sadness that this loss means to all of us. You were a great man and you were just a genuinely funny...hilarious human being.

Your sense of humor is what I will miss most followed closely by your extreme loyalty.

I remember as a kid, living less than a thousand feet from you, and having you catch me sneaking people into the house or me sneaking out of the house. You never "told on me" instead you said something that made me laugh and encouraged me to be smart and be careful. Your loss, although ending your pain, leaves a hurt that won't soon subside. 

The people you've touched are better for having been blessed by your love, your loyalty, your friendship, and your contagious laughter. You are one of a kind. You will be sorely missed and never forgotten!

Dear Uncle Mike, I can not quite explain how bad I feel that you are gone. I know we lost touch but I will always keep the memories of our afternoon telephone conversations that lasted for hours, so many years ago, deep in my heart. To this day, I think of you every time I eat a steak burger from Steak-n-Shake, and I know I always will. I was so very proud when I heard you were recognized by the United States Department of Transportation for your million miles without a traffic violation or accident. I love you uncle, and will always miss you, but I know I will see you again someday when it is time for me to go. Maybe we came share a steak burger and have a beer! Just a line to say that you are going to be missed. You touched so many lives. All the steakburgers you delivered for millions of people to enjoy, people who never even knew you. The miles you drove over the road, without an accident these are part of your memorial.; You left us to soon. Someday we will be together again, one big happy family.
