Renee Gruska

Beloved wife of Ronald Gruska, Sr.; loving mother of Ronald (Mary Kay) Gruska, Jr. and Robin (Anthony) Geiser; dear grandmother of Ashlie (Mitchell) Leiweke, Haley (Alexander) Hammonds, Blake Geiser, and Kylie Geiser; great grandmother of Jace, Kinsley, and River; dear sister of Kathy (the late William) Lepp, Barb (Gerald) Gruska, Judy (Greg) Cissell; our dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Renee is predeceased by her parents, Patrick & Marie (nee Garcia) DeClue and brothers, Terry DeClue and Timothy (the late Mary Ellen) DeClue.

Robin's Eulogy from Mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church.

I want to thank all of you that are here today to say goodbye to my Mom and to celebrate her life.

We will always remember her small stature, her pomp hair and the smell of her Design perfume anywhere she went.

My Mom was always there for us and for whoever needed her, and it was her purpose to make it easier for those she loved.

Hospice gave us time to fulfill her wish of staying in the house she loved and living out her remaining days until she peacefully went Home. That truly was a gift from God!

Today is not a day of sadness for me, but a day of rejoicing, because in Christ there are no goodbyes, nor is there an end. She will continue on without pain and suffering, only joy, love and peace.

I ask for prayers for my family as we navigate how to adjust without her, but I know we are surrounded by loving family and friends to see us through.

Please remember in the words of Mother Theresa" if you want to bring happiness to the world, go home and love your family.

My Mom lived that model. She cared for her parents as they aged.

She was a devoted Wife of 54 years, She was a loving Sister and Sister in law, she was an Aunt to many, who thought of her as a second mom, she was a loving Grandmother that stopped time when her grandchildren were with her and she was a remarkable mother to my brother and I.

Although we will miss her dearly, we know she will watch over us. Rest in Peace Mom, We will carry your love with us always.

Interment to follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
