

Ruth Lillian Schwartz, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, in Chesterfield, Missouri, at the age of 96. Born on September 5, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, Ruth lived a life marked by love for her family and dedication to those around her.
Ruth's early career began at Bussman's Fuse, but her greatest joy came from being a devoted stay-at-home mom, nurturing her family with warmth and care. As her children grew older, Ruth embarked on a new chapter in her professional life, joining Schnucks Grocery Store, where she worked diligently and rose to the position of manager. She retired proudly at the age of 62, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and respect from her colleagues.
Her interests were deeply rooted in her love for her family and friends, with whom she shared countless hours cooking, baking, and crafting. Ever the gracious host, Ruth delighted in gathering loved ones around her table, sharing her culinary creations and creating cherished memories. She also enjoyed playing cards and games, relishing in both the challenge and camaraderie they provided.
Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Schwartz; her parents, Oscar and Ada Ross; her siblings, Esther Archibald, Herbert Bollinger, Oscar Ross, and Texie Miller. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Debbie (William) Brady and Donna (Royal) Eaton, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her granddaughter, Jamie (Michael) Peters, was a constant source of pride and joy in her life. Ruth's friends and family will forever remember her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion.
In the hearts of those who knew her, Ruth Lillian Schwartz will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ruth’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A visitation for Ruth will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel, 9450 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132. A funeral service will occur immediately after at the same location. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM at Oak Grove Memorial Mausoleum, located at 7800 St Charles Rock Rd, St. Louis, MO 63114.
