Steve was the loving husband of Carol A. (nee Austermann) Fieseler; treasured dad of Nick (Libbie) Fieseler and Amelia (Aaron) Hammerstone; devoted grandpa and pawpaw of Alex, Luke, and Nate "the Great" Fieseler, and Greyson Hammerstone; dear brother of Denny (David) Poepsel, Doug (Terry) Fieseler, and the late Karen (Ken) Daum; dear brother in law of Kathy (Don) Hrdlicka, Chris Pauley, and the late Kurt (Gloria) Austermann; dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and a friend to many in his lifetime. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Ruth (nee Tanner) Fieseler.
Steve graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1968, and earned his Bachelor's of Political Science from University of MO St. Louis. He worked for the US. Postal Service for many decades and happily retired in 2010.
Steve was a great friend and neighbor, and always willing to help. He loved to build things and built two of the family homes, and recently completed siding and replacing the windows on their home of 31 years. He spent lots of time piddling in the basement making tunnels for his grandsons' trains, and other hobbies. He was big into jigsaw puzzles. He had great friends and loved hanging out with them. He was a simple man. Whenever anyone asked him how he was, he simply said, "Life is Good." Steve was extremely proud of his kids and grandkids. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved "fundido days" when he and Carol would spend time with friends, eating and drinking and sharing laughs.
Steve was generous, loving, funny, affectionate, and a wonderful and amazing all-around good guy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Steve loved a good toast, so please raise a glass in Steve's honor.
A Celebration of Stephen's Life will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 2:30-5pm at The Firehouse Grill, 3500 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis MO 63125.
