Carol & Family,
We are so sorry to hear about Steve’s passing. May the fact that he lived a full & wonderful life bring you some peace. 
We always enjoyed time we spent with the two of you over the years. First when the kids were in school together, and more recently for ‘fundido’ days. Those were great times.

How do you put 73 years of memories into 2000 words.  Steve was my younger brother by 2 years. Our father died 1-1-63, 51 years and a day before Steve died. We grew up fast and he became the man of the house at 12 years old.  He liked mom’s barb-b-q sauce on bacon, green cream cheese jello, did not like chicken on the bone, I loved when he ordered a hamburger without “Salad”. He went to St. Mary’s, worked at Cardinal Glennon Hospital, only one of us to go to college, UMSL, worked at downtown law firm, then got job at Post Office until retirement. Bought our first color TV, finished off mom’s  basement, even handy with a hammer when young, had a green “Bullitt” mustang and let me drive it.  Did Karate all the time. Had a high Draft lottery number. Played Sudoku.

Steve worked nights at Post Office, bid off a couple of times, not a good fit. Married the girl across the street. Built two homes for his family, just completed a project in barroom. You never wanted for anything when Steve and Carol hosted a party. He was strong, could lift father-in-law in and out of vehicles when he got weaker.  He was sensitive too, and it hurt him to see our mother in a nursing home, but the 4 of us visited for meals with her.  Loved his lunches, with co-workers, family and friends (Thanks Don Weber). Could always find him with Doug in his garage helping and visiting all the time. Thank you to those that have left memories of Steve, please come up and tell me a story when we connect at his “Celebration of Life”.

Doug reminded me that he always said “LIFE IS GOOD”, I’m glad he felt that way, life won’t be so good for awhile, we will miss his company, smile and hearty laugh.

Dear Carol and family, 
Stephan was such a fun and caring guy. I remember visiting him when he was in the hospital in 2013 while Mike was in there and he told me how God has given him another chance to show Carol how he loves her and he’s working to get strong to support her in so many ways again. He did that and continued to show you love in the yrs forward but will forever be in yr heart. I feel your loss and I’m here for you Carol.

My condolences to Steve's family. I knew him for years at the St. Louis Post Office. He was kind, gentle and loved a good laugh. He had a beautiful smile.

Steve was truly loved by all, including me :) He was generous of spirit and quick to make you laugh. The last time I saw Steve we shared a laugh on his front lawn and he told me “I love ya hunny”. I feel like every time I saw him over the last few years he was sure to tell me he loved me. We should all do that more often.   After living across the street from The Fieselers, and being friends with Amelia for nearly 30 years, there are a lot of memories to choose from. But one of the classic memories that I still think about is when I was a kid and went camping with the Fieselers and we were collecting firewood. Steve picked up this huge tree branch and I (with perfect comedic timing) said “It’s gotta be the puppy chow!” Steve laughed extremely hard at this and over the years we enjoyed reminding each other of that infamous moment. When I think of Steve I think of an amazing Father to Amelia and Nick, the perfect partner in crime for Carol, a wonderful Grandfather and the best neighbor anyone could ask for. May love and light surround his family and friends as they grieve the loss of such a wonderful man.

To Carol and your family: you are on our minds during this difficult ordeal. Our hearts are with you.

We lost a good friend but, oh, what fun times we shared. After he retired, Stephen and I shared many great times in Soulard over the years, especially at Johnny's. We would start at lunch and sometimes last until 5:00 and be home in bed by 5:30pm. Other times, the wives would join us and we would do our best stratagizing and stay until midnight. We were a lot younger in those days. But this is how we planned many vacations...to the Caribbean, Kentucky bourbon country, Tennessee, RV trips to the Dakotas, Wyoming, and the Grand Canyon. Stephen always gave his approval for these excursions with two words...Yes Dear!!!

Also, is you ever wanted a quote from the "Godfather and its sequels", just ask Stephen. He was an expert. Also, he would always have an opinion on national and local politics. However, I can't share his quotes. But one more thing I can share from Stephen's list of quotes is---" If the story/subject was on 60 Minutes, it must be true."

Steve was our neighbor and friend for almost 30 years. He enjoyed life and often offered a toast simply saying “Life is good”! He loved his family and was very proud of his wife Carol,  children and grandchildren. He was funny, helpful and always available to lend a helping hand.
