How to pick one memory is virtually impossible. I remember Vince's mom Polly and the cousin's playing in the various backyards through the years. All grubby and dirt covered but always having fun. Then the numerous BBQ's. Did any of the men in that family ever learn to BBQ with out burning up the meat? Playing volleyball and softball in our backyard on Klondike or some family gathering was always a laugh filled time. Between the aunts and uncles and kids it was hard to tell who the biggest cheaters were. Then I was off to SEMO and low and behold I stayed for a summer turn and guess who showed up at my door one day. Between playing tennis and going to the local park pool I am surprised I passed any of my summer classes. He was always fun and a bad influence. He always told me how much he loved my mom and dad. I never really told him enough how much I loved him. I think he knew. I was so thrilled when he called me a few weeks ago.  I will miss him and his crazy sense of humor but I know he has been united with many of the people that loved him in this life. His loss will be felt by many people. I wish to extend a warm hug to Clair and please know I wish I could be there to give it to you in person. I miss you ALL and just know that you are all in my thoughts during this difficult time. Teri and I want to extend our condolences to Clare, Vince Jr. and the entire family. We all lost a really exceptional guy this past Monday.  Vince will be missed and will be forever in our hearts.
Vince and I go back to the Roosevelt High school swim team days.  Those were very special times.  Vince, like most Roughriders , was very proud of being from South St. Louis and a Roosevelt Roughrider.  Vince, Jim and I had a great time during the RHS swimming days and found a way to re-connect years later.  We loved the fishing trips, burning the steaks, catching  a few fish, and most of all just time to chew the fat. Vince was a fishing teacher. He loved throwing that Senko and could talk about the success of that bait for hours.  Our fishing trips won’t be the same without Vince, but in his honor will fish that senko.  Rest In Peace Vince we love you.



What can I say about one of the best friends I'll ever have?  Vince and I have been on many adventures together and in the early years after high school floated every river in Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas several times. Those were great trips.

Then with work and family consuming our time we lost touch.  It was Vince who brought a little of his cherished past back together when he reunited the swim team tri-captains, Vince, Al and me.  When the three of us were together and met someone new, Vince would always work the tri-captain theme into the conversation - Al and I would just smile, Vince loved that bit of history and never tired of bringing it up.  The three of us went on many fishing trips these past two decades, caught a few fish, had a TON of laughs and enjoyed our time together.  Quite simply, Vince was a loyal and true friend who I'll miss beyond words...

Vince was a wonderfully sweet and nice guy.  I have many great memories from high school.

Vince was a true friend to me & everyone he knew at Roosevelt, Some of us were lucky enough to renew our friendships at the Chat & Chew recently. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family.  🙏🏻

I remember walking back to Alpha Company 5th Special Forces Group -  Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the early 70s and heard someone yell out my name. I looked around and saw Vince Richardson yelling hello at me.  We stopped and chatted for a bit.  It was many years later that Vince reminded me of our Fort Bragg chance encounter at one of the Roosevelt High School Reunions.   I was sorry to hear that Vince passed away. RIP Vince.
