Walter J. Schultheis Sr., age 77, of St Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday September 13, 2018. Walter was born July 29, 1941 in St Louis, Missouri to Helen Elaine Schultheis and Norman Clifford Schultheis.
Walter is survived by; daughters Ellen Watt, Ruby (Jeff Abney) Abernathy, Bonnie Kelch; sons John Abernathy and Walter (Erin) Schultheis Jr; brother Norman Carl Schultheis; sister-in-law Caroline Schultheis; brother-in-law Terry Graham; 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife Hester Schultheis; father Norman Schultheis and mother Helen Schultheis; sister Joanne "Irene" Graham.
Walter was a life-long Saint Louisan. He worked for over forty years for the Fleet Service Department at the Saint Louis City Police Department. He was also an avid fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals. He met the light and love of his life Hester in Southern Missouri. He was hopelessly devoted to Hester and the family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Walter will be held Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. The funeral service will occur Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel.
