William M. "Bill" Bissell

March 27, 1929 – November 16, 2019

Son of the late Lloyce D. Bissell and Iva Bissell (nee Cluley). Spouse of Dorothy Bissell and the late Marjorie C. Bissell (nee Schiefelbein); Father of Cheryl (Steve) Woodruff and the late Marcia Ann Bissell; Grandfather of Brendan M. and Meghan C. Woodruff; Brother of Dorothy (Bill) Devore, Essie (Franklin) Westmoreland, Ronald (Carol) Bissell and the late Lucille (late Delmar) Prout, late Russell (late Alice) Bissell, the late Donald (Geraldine) Bissell and the late Alma Bissell; uncle, cousin and friend to many.

William joined the U.S. Army after high school and remained stateside as a meat inspector for the troops. After discharge from the Army he joined the construction trades and worked as a pipefitter. He was a proud member of the Plumbers’ and Pipefitters’ Union-Local #562. He retired at the age of 62 from Corrigan Company Mechanical Contractors.

Over the years he was a member of the High Ridge Civic Club, High Ridge Gun Club, Optimists, and the High Ridge Elks. He loved to hunt and fish and later in life took up the game of golf.

He would be very pleased for donation’s to be made to the Next Step for Life, Mapaville MO or Children’s Miracle Network.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church 2308 Gravois Rd, High Ridge, MO.
