

CATAHOULA – A memorial service celebrating the life of Carrie Lynn Simoneaux, 45, will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Fr. Richard Fabre will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Dion Hall in Catahoula on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 from 9:00 am thru 1:30 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 1:00 pm.
Carrie Lynn Simoneaux was born June 13, 1969 in Loreauville to Mildred Melancon Simoneaux and the late Charles Adam Simoneaux. She passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center, surrounded by her family and friends.
Carrie was a hair dresser and also worked with the St. Martin Parish School Board as a bus driver for many years. She was well known and loved for her kind and fun personality. She loved to laugh and joke with family and friends and always had a smile for anyone she came across. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Mya Simoneaux and Conner Simoneaux both of Catahoula, and Jordan Simoneaux (Mandi) of Broussard; two grandchildren, Braeden and Elli Simoneaux; her mother, Mildred Melancon Simoneaux and companion Bill Lindsey of Catahoula; her sisters, Lisa Wiggins (Wes) and Kim Talley (Mervin) all of Catahoula; her brothers, Troy Simoneaux (Renee) of Parks, and Corey Simoneaux (Samantha) of Catahoula; nieces and nephews, Tres and Charlie Bernis, Whitni Wiggins, Holly and Josh Verret, Troy Simoneaux, Jr., Ashley Theriot, Derek Talley, Madisyn, Makayla and Noah Simoneaux; great nieces, Talli and Taylor Theriot, Gabrielle and Alexandra Latiolais, Kennedi and Isabella Nugier, and Anneliese Verret; and her dear friends, Dwayne Savoie, Dorris Barras, Aunt Lilly Melancon, Leslie Gaspard, Madeline Meloncon, and Cherie Alexandrescu.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Adam Simoneaux; grandparents, Lucy and Adam Simoneaux, and Amilie and Joseph Melancon; and nephews Brock and Brylon Simoneaux.
Her children will serve as pallbearers.
