Raymond was born December 2, 1943 in St. Martinville to the late Lazin Boudreaux and the late Luce Robicheaux Boudreaux. He was raised in a family steeped in faith and Cajun heritage. He met the love of his life, Bonita Hebert, and they entered into the holy sacrament of Matrimony on May 3, 1964.
In his early years, he sold insurance with Farm Bureau, but his heart and tradition was farming sugar cane. He worked with his father many years until he purchased the farm. For years, he has worked his land to raise a prosperous crop of sugar cane. Alongside his father, Lazin Boudreaux, son-in-law Carl and son, Raymond, Jr. they did just that.
Outside of his farm, Raymond loved to go camping, especially to his camp at Bayou Alexson. His family enjoyed many memorable times there. His other passions were taking care of his cows and chickens, and of course gardening. Later in his life, Mrs. Bonnie built a room special for Raymond so that he could sit and watch out over his fields. It was where he spent his last days and peacefully closed his eyes to his earthly life to go on to his heavenly reward. He will be missed dearly, but his legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him so dearly. Until we meet again. We love you.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonita Hebert Boudreaux; his children, Claudia Borel (Carl), Karen Boudreaux and Raymond Boudreaux, Jr. (Yvette); his grandchildren, Orry Borel, Sylas Borel, Lee Boudreaux, Gabby Boudreaux, Morgan Boudreaux; his great grandchild, Addison Claire Boudreaux; his step grandchildren, Gresilda Velado and Mario A. Velado; and his brother Rayln Boudreaux (Linda).
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Lazin and Luce Boudreaux; his in-laws Claude and Lizzie Hebert; and his son-in-law, Mario Nelson Velado (Karen).
Raymond was laid to rest in Lady of the Lake Mausoleum in Catahoula Thursday, December 23, 2021 with his family in prayer. Fr. Bill Melancon officiated over the services and blessing of the mausoleum.
