It is with great sorrow and deep love that the Jones family announces the passing of our beloved Rollins Christopher “Rolo” Jones, Sr., who passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 37.
Rollins was born on May 18, 1988, to Nancy Mitchell Jones and the late Roland Paul Jones, Sr., and was raised in St. Martinville, Louisiana. From an early age, Rollins displayed an infectious love for life, family, and friends. He never met a stranger, and his easy smile and joyful spirit could light up any room.
A dedicated and skilled worker, Rollins took great pride in his craft as a fabrication specialist, responsible for inspecting tanks and vessels built by his company. He was known for his strong work ethic, his attention to detail, and his commitment to safety and excellence. Rollins found deep satisfaction in ensuring that every project he worked on met the highest standards of quality — a reflection of his pride, discipline, and integrity.
Outside of work, Rollins’ heart belonged to his family and friends. He cherished every opportunity to gather with loved ones — whether visiting, laughing over old memories, or hosting cookouts filled with good food and great company. He was especially proud of his legendary barbequed ribs, which often brought everyone together around the table. When he wasn’t cooking or socializing, Rollins found peace and joy in fishing — often turning his catch into another shared meal that created even more cherished memories.
Above all, Rollins was a man devoted to his family. He was the life of every gathering, a loyal and loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. His family remembers him as a man with a million-dollar smile, a kind heart, and a generous spirit. Though we mourn his passing, we choose to celebrate his remarkable life and the love he so freely gave.
“Rollins, rest well, thy good and faithful servant, for you have earned your heavenly reward. We look forward to the day we are reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven. We love you.”
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Naisiah Ledet, Rylun Jones, and Rollins Jones, Jr.; his loving mother, Nancy Mitchell Jones; his siblings, Mark Abraham (Deanna), Charmaine Hill (Chester), and Rolonda Benoit (Dennis); and his companion, Eternity Samuel.
