He loved golf from a very young age. He caddied for Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Ted Rhodes. He married the love of his life, Elaine, just days before he reported to the army. Upon discharge, he pursued his career as a PGA professional. He was head pro at Ashbrook GC, Scotch Plains, NJ for over 30 years, before retiring and moving full time to Isla Del Sol. He is a life member as well as a half century member of the PGA of America. He was always happy to help someone with their swing. His twin brother, Bill, passed away last June and Charlie was never the same. Charlie was the best husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elaine, daughters, Charlaine Tatz and Debbie Curtis, son in law, Fred Curtis, and grandchildren, Charlie and Kelly Curtis.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 24, 2029, beginning at 5 pm. Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 Corey Ave. St. Pete Beach.
