David Ernest Califano

David "DAVE" Ernest Califano, 64 of South Pasadena, FL passed away at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital on April 13, 2017. He was born in Quincy, MA and has been a Florida resident for 35 years. He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Mullinnix DD 944. Dave enjoyed exploration and travel. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Jennifer Califano. Survivors include his loving wife Judy (Ottersen) Califano, son, Adam Califano, stepson, Michael Truax (Andrea), daughter, Amanda Rost (Jamie), brothers, Lee Russell (Linda), Michael Califano, Randy Califano (Margerette), Lenny Califano (Peggy), grandchildren, Aylissa, Jacob, Olivia, Tyler, and Vanessa. Dave is also survived by his shipmates "Fair Sailing", several nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins, several friends and neighbors at Bay Island Condominiums; and his beloved felines June and Kaley Califano. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, FL on Monday April 24, 2017 at 12:45 pm. No prior visitation hours are planned.
