Francis “Edward” Eddie Schiro, 77, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Edward moved to St. Petersburg in the 1970s, where he became a beloved figure in his community and built a lasting legacy through his work.
Edward was the owner and operator of Precision Design Products for over 30 years, earning a reputation as a highly skilled machinist. His expertise and craftsmanship made him a trusted name in his field. But beyond his professional achievements, Edward was known for his deep love for his family, especially his daughters and grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
In addition to his career, Eddie was an avid enthusiast of many hobbies. He obtained his Scuba Diving Certification in 1975 and developed a passion for automotive mechanics, becoming proficient in fixing vehicles of all types. His love for the Gulf of Mexico “America” led him to enjoy countless hours fishing, whether on boats, from bridges, or wherever he could cast a line.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Frank Schiro Sr. and Florence Salsi; and his loving sister, Josette “Jo” Davis.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie M. Schiro of Freeport, Illinois, and Carly C. Schiro of Bonita Springs, Florida; his grandsons, Wyatt (Donna) Johnson of Rockford, Illinois, Colin C. Schiro of Milton, Florida, Jaelin Ocasio of Freeport, Illinois, and Peyton Beresky of Milton, Florida; and his granddaughters, Cassidy Johnson and Elise Nottingham, both of Freeport, Illinois. He also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Amber Nottingham of Freeport, Illinois. Edward’s love for his family extended beyond immediate relations, with his dear friends Mitch and Bob among his closest companions. He will be missed by many other friends, family, nieces, and nephews, whose lives he touched with kindness, humor, and generosity.
Edward was a man of integrity, strength, and love. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who had the privilege of being part of his life.
A Celebration of Life to honor Edward’s life will be on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 4:00pm at Beach Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior. A reception will follow at Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 Corey Avenue St. Pete Beach, Florida 33706. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to a charity of choice.
Rest in peace, Edward. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.
