CONVEY, Elizabeth “ Liz” (Thomas) 76, passed away Saturday, October 6th, 2018 in St. Petersburg, FL surrounded by her family. Liz was born April 2, 1942, in Brooklyn New York to Charles R. Thomas and Winfred Thomas of Brooklyn, NY. She attended Fontbonne Hall Academy and St. Edmund Preparatory High School and went on to earn a B. A. from Northern Illinois University. Liz was a volunteer for Catholic Charities and sought many opportunities to care for those less fortunate. Liz is preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Charles R. Thomas, a sister Mary Ann Thomas and brother David Thomas.Liz is survived by her husband of 54 years Joseph Convey, sons Kevin (Debbie), John (Mary), daughter Jeanne Convey Tyre ( Brian) and grandchildren, Courtney Fishel (Kirkland), Micaela Convey, Addison Convey, Haleigh Tyre, Joshua Tyre, and Madison Tyre. Liz also leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her brothers Bobby Thomas (Carol), Teddy Thomas (Donna), John Thomas ( Doreen), Steven Thomas (Grace), and Brian Thomas (Peggy), as well as many Nieces, Nephews, and Godchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 19th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church 445 82nd Ave St. Pete Beach Florida from 10 am to 11 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Francis Breadline of New York and Wounded Warrior Project.
