Harold R Carlson

CARLSON, Harold R 95, of Tierra Verde, FL died October 18, 2016 at Palm Gardens of Largo. He was born in Vermont on March 22, 1921 to parents Ernest and Ruth Carlson. In 1946 he moved from Pennsylvania to Florida and operated the Carlson Construction Company building custom homes in the Tierra Verde area. He was an Army Air Corps veteran serving during WW II in the European Theatre. He is a charter member of St Andrews Lutheran Church of St. Petersburg, The Exchange Club, and former member of the Pass A Grille Yacht Club. He was an avid photographer, golfer, boater, and pinochle player. He is predeceased by his wife Joyce who passed away in 2012.

Survivors include nephews and nieces Wayne Bowen, Joyce Bowen Dove, Celeste Whitworth Kramer, Reese Whitworth, Glen Johnson, Eric Johnson, Gretchen Haas Gurney, Jeff Haas, and Ben Haas. Surviving Grand nephews and grand nieces are Kevin Bowen, Kathryn Bowen Cartwright, Sarah Bowen Mace, Jennifer Bowen, Christoper Bowen, Rachel McArdle, Matthew Tumulty, John Dove, Kalia Gurney, Eli Gurney, Eme Gurney, Ani Gurney, Jason Haas, Lily Haas, Angela Haas, Hayden Haas, and Soren Haas.

Visitation will be at Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach, FL on Sat October 22, 2016 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Pastor Felice Johnson of St. Andrews Lutheran Church will officiate the funeral service at 11:30 am on Saturday. Interment will follow at Royal Palm Cemetery, 101 55th St S, in St. Petersburg.
