Jackson Edward Price was loved by many and left an undeniable impression on everyone that knew him. Known to all as Jack, he was born in Findlay, Ohio, and moved at an early age to Tampa, Florida, where he graduated from Hillsborough High School. He spent most of his career in the transportation and logistics industry. As a successful sales executive, his positions allowed him to jet set around the country, where he rubbed elbows with fellow corporate executives that lived the “high-life”, as he used to say. One of the perks he often reminisced about were those extravagant fishing, moose and elk hunting excursions, and his exploits with Bob “Evel” Knieval, while living in Butte, Montana.
Jack had spent many hard-working years building a life with his late wife Judy, and raising their son, William (Bill) in California, Washington, Connecticut, Montana, and Colorado, before retiring to Florida.
While volunteering at Palms of Pasadena Hospital he met Marilyn and they were married in 2000 at Goodwin Chapel in St. Petersburg, Florida. He gained three additional sons with this union: James, Robert, and Joseph. Both Jack and Marilyn were active members at Pasadena Community Church, where Jack served as an usher for several years. He enjoyed greeting his fellow churchgoers, and was well known to be quite the charmer with all the ladies in the congregation! Jack spent his retirement enjoying golf and social events at Pasadena Country Club and presiding over family gatherings. He enjoyed being active and was always eager to assist with home renovation projects with his friends and family members. Jack was also a voracious reader, enjoyed traveling, camp fires, and most of all fishing. He frequently landed spectacular catches that had to be seen to be believed!
Throughout his life, Jack captivated us through his caring nature, quick wit, and fanciful stories about every topic imaginable. He loved joking around, getting a rise out of you, and reminiscing about good times. Jack had a heart of gold and was always there for anyone who needed him. He went above and beyond to take care of those he loved. Jack’s greatest gift was bringing a smile to the faces of the people around him. He was a devoted Christian, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, a lover of animals, and so much more. Jack was a genuine, strong, and loyal soul, who will be deeply missed, and will forever remain in our hearts.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, sister Leta, son Bill (Danka) Price, stepsons James (Hollye) Hooker, Robert (Ayumi) Hooker, and Joseph (Renee) Hooker.
A life celebration memorial service for Jackson will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Pasadena Community Church’s Goodwin Chapel, 227 70th ST S, St. Petersburg, FL 33707.
