Thomas J. Lee, Jr., 85, of Treasure Island, FL, passed away on February 4, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Marian Amthor Lee and Thomas J. Lee, Sr.; his brother, Richard Lee; and his grandson, James. He is survived by his children, Cheryl, Thomas III, and Debra; his grandchildren, Dustin, Madeline, and Riley; his sister-in-law, Sandra; and many beloved cousins.
Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years before beginning a long career with United Parcel Service, where he worked from 1960 until his retirement in 1993. He had many close friends at UPS and cherished the annual family picnics they shared.
After his mother’s passing in January 1994, Thomas and Carol relocated to Florida, where his parents and brother had settled in Treasure Island in the early 1970s. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing in New York with his friends and continued his passion for fishing after moving to Florida.
Thomas was actively involved in his community, serving on the Board of Directors in Treasure Island in 1995 for several years. In later years, despite mobility challenges from multiple surgeries, he found joy in spending time in his garage, greeting neighbors and passersby. He especially looked forward to his weekly Walmart trips with Carol.
After their home was damaged by Hurricane Helene, Thomas and Carol moved in with their son, where they continued to be surrounded by love and family.
A Funeral Mass will be held on March 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Church in St. Petersburg, followed by a reception.
