Virginia (Ginny) Daniels was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away on February 22, 2022 at age 81. Ginny was born to James and Margaret (Browne) Daniels on July 24, 1940 in Buffalo, NY. Ginny graduated from the Buffalo Seminary and Endicott College, and attended the State University of New York at Buffalo. Following college, she worked as a reporter for the Buffalo News. Later, Ginny was active as a political consultant for candidates at the local, state and national level. In 1980 and 1988 she worked on the campaigns for President George H. W. Bush. Ginny grew up in Buffalo and spent many summers on the Canadian shore of Lake Erie. She was an avid supporter of sailing, serving as a race committee member during weekly races and major regattas. Ginny was a member of Buffalo Canoe Club, serving as a member of the club’s Board of Directors from 2000 to 2002. She loved history and guided City of Buffalo tours.
After she moved to Florida in 2006, Ginny joined the St. Petersburg Yacht Club where she was an active member of the Salty Sisters and their singing group "the Nauticats." She also was also an avid supporter of St. Petersburg Old Northeast Preservation.
Survivors include her son James (Danny) Beardsley (Mary Chris) and daughter Elizabeth (Libby) Beardsley; sister, Kathleen Widelski (Daniel); and grandchildren, MacKenzie Scullion (Andrew), Carter Beardsley, and Ronan Beardsley. A Celebration will take place at the Beach Memorial Chapel in St. Pete Beach, FL on May 21st at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Empath Health-Suncoast Hospice.
