Ashley Nicole Carlyon

Ashley Nicole Carlyon passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2025, in Missouri City, Texas. She was born on July 23, 1985, in Houston, Texas, to her loving parents, Michael Carlyon and Brenda (Stech) Carlyon.

Ashley graduated from Elkins High School in Missouri City and attended the University of Texas at San Antonio before beginning a career in the hospitality industry, where her warmth and compassion touched many lives.

Ashley had a deep love for animals and the water, and was an avid fan of all things Disney—especially The Little Mermaid. She found joy in watching Titanic and Harry Potter movies, rarely missed an episode of The Price Is Right, and had a lifelong enthusiasm for Halloween and horror movies. Ashley had a kind, patient heart and a gift for connecting with others—especially older adults, young children, and individuals with special needs. She was happiest when she could make someone smile.

Ashley is preceded in death by her grandparents Howard and Susan Carlyon, William and Rosalie Stech; step-grandfather Carl Holleman; aunts Barbara Stech, Laura Brock, and Loretta Katzenmeyer; and uncles Jay Katzenmeyer and Craig Hill.

She is survived by her devoted parents; her sister Stacy Russo and husband Joseph; her cherished niece, Summer; aunts and uncles Sharon Hill, Carol and Robert Hutchinson, Patricia and Steve Wilson, Dennis Carlyon, Joseph and Charlene Carlyon; along with many loving cousins and friends. Ashley also leaves behind her beloved fur babies, Rufus and Ana.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 5th Street in Missouri City, , with a reception to follow.

A private burial will take place at a later date in Orange Grove, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ashley’s memory to the SPCA, an animal rescue organization, or a charity of your choice. Most of all, please remember to hold your loved ones close and tell them how much they mean to you.
