

Billie Kathryn Paulk Alexander, born August 3, 1926, in Rockwall County, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She was a resident of Temple, TX, Abilene, TX, Lafayette LA, Dallas, TX, New Orleans, LA, Copenhagen, Denmark, Johannesburg, RSA, Kinshasa, DRC, finally settling in Missouri City, TX for 42 years and Rosenberg, TX for the last two years.
Billie was introduced to her future husband Jim by mutual friends while living in Abilene. They were married in 1950 and had two boys, Mike and Dan, in 1951 and 1952. Shortly after that they all set off on a great adventure moving all over the southern states and then the world.
Billie was an active hospital volunteer at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital for nearly 40 years, receiving “Volunteer of the Year” in 2016. She was a voting poll worker for many years in Quail Valley, and loved to talk about her time during and after college working as a telephone operator and draftsman for the Bell Telephone Company in Abilene. She was a talented calligrapher and also an avid bowler for many years.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, James R Alexander; son, Dan Alexander; parents Jim Cason Paulk and Lois Kathryn Edge Paulk; and brother Joe M. Paulk.
She is survived by her son James Michael Alexander and his wife Elizabeth, Joe Dan Alexander’s wife Sherri, grandson, James Cason “Case” Alexander, the apple of her eye; and four special grandchildren, Kaitlyn and her husband Brad Wolf, Zak, Alexis, and Amanda and her husband John Shipley and two special great grandchildren, Braxton and Britton Wolf. Friends are invited to a memorial service on Wednesday Jan 5 at 1 pm, at Earthman Southwest Chapel, 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford. Friends are also invited to a hosted lunch following the service.
