Dr. Cronin started the medical mission trip Operation San Jose in 1983, with Cleft Lip and Palate surgeries on children in Mexico and Latin America and trained doctors in the latest surgical techniques. He was proud of his medical service work at the Thomas D. Cronin and Raymond O. Brauer Cleft Palate Clinic and his teaching of fellow doctors, not only techniques of surgeries, but subtleties of character.
Ernie was blessed with a business partnership with Dr. Benjamin Cohen for several decades and formed a family with his office personnel. He was grateful for the many colleagues of nurses, doctors, and staff with whom he worked.
He has been a member of Knights of Malta, Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Serra Club of Houston and Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons (former president).
He was proud of his Catholic Faith, proud of his Irish heritage, proud of his family, and proud of his profession. He held dear the education of his children and his lifelong learning of the Catholic Faith.
