Esperanza was married to Julio César Carías Oviedo until his death in 1998; together they had 6 children.
Working in the American Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras facilitated legal entry to the United States for her entire family in 1968. Esperanza was a devout Christian woman who sacrificed greatly to ensure that her children follow the Christian faith so they could become honest, responsible, and God fearing individuals. She accomplished this by modeling her Christian values, encouraging her children’s faith, and by fostering their education.
Esperanza is survived by her children, Hilda Carías-Varelas, Julio Cesar Carías, Jr., Diana Carías, Georgina Sirmons, Omar Carías, and Marisela Martinez; Eight grandchildren, Christina Sirmons, Robert Sirmons, Joshua Carías, Nicolette, Natalie, and Nataniel Farrar, Valencia Martinez and Roman Martinez.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude and appreciation to Matilde Rodriguez, caregiver and friend, at Josephine’s Home Care for taking care of our mom for so many years. We also want to thank Altus Hospice for their assistance.
A Personal Message: Mom, we can’t wait to see you in your heavenly splendor enjoying the presence of our Heavenly Father. We miss you deeply, but know you are in a much better place. We thank God for you.
*It was Esperanza’s expressed wishes to have a private family memorial service.
