Esther Kathryine Liptai, 88, died on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born at home, on October 16, 1933 in Jackson County, Texas to Anton Peter and Carolina Agatha Frenzel Karnowski. Esther was a devout practicing Catholic throughout her life. Through genealogy she traced her family’s arrival to Texas in 1877 from France, Poland and Germany. Esther and James, her husband, businesses created the need for travel to many foreign countries and to all 50 states. Travel became a large part of life for her.
Volunteering was her PHD for living. Esther volunteered with many catholic charities, St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, the Veteran’s Hospital (over 5000 hours) during the Vietnam War and the Master Gardener programs. She signed the State Charter for Fort Bend County Master Gardeners, which lead to her judging in county fairs, writing gardening articles and teaching about those “beautiful flowers” that God has given all of us. She wrote many poems and loved to paint.
Esther leaves behind to cherish their memories, daughter Deborah Ann Liptai Brown; grandsons Jason Lee Brown and Travis Reed Brown; Liz and Sara; sister Gladys Stockbauer along with nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many, many dear friends.
She will greatly be missed.
