Frank was born December 27th, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Tony and Jannie Failla. At the age of five, the family returned to Stafford to truck farm their land. He attended Missouri City High school and participated in music and football. In 1944 he met the love of his life, Grace Marie Imbraguglio. They married in1948 spending over 65 beautiful years together. Frank was involved in rice farming and self-employed residential painting. Known for perfection in his field, he was gifted with the ability to create custom color before technology was invented. He retired at the age of 62.
Those who were fortunate to have known him will remember his smile that brightened up the room for he never met a stranger. Wherever he went he shared something: a bag of produce from the garden, fresh eggs, shucked and peeled pecans, spaghetti and meatballs, and above all, his infamous strawberry jelly. He fed the wild birds and unwanted animals as well. Frank enjoyed spending time in Sargent catching crabs and fishing from his pier. When he wasn’t in Sargent, he wanted to be hunting “in the woods” where he swore all things taste better. He instilled hard work and ethics. He leaves us with great memories and comical clichés that reflected life’s lessons.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Grace; and their children Janie and husband, Jeff Johnson, Carolyn and husband, Michael Scoggins, and Lisa and husband, Terry Raska; brothers, Joe Failla, P.T.
