

Gary was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Orine and Jack Greer; his three brothers, Gerald, Terry, and Wayne Greer; and his nephews, Brent and Heath Greer.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Sherry Greer; his daughters, Natalie Broadway and her husband Wesley, and Stephanie Irwin; and his cherished grandchildren, Lexi Mills and her husband Kaden, Travis Lubbe, Brooke Lubbe, Nikolas Irwin and his wife Andrea. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews who meant so much to him.
Gary’s family moved from Shreveport to Houston when he was very young. He attended Houston schools, graduating from Aldine High School in 1965. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas, in 1974.
Gary met the love of his life, Sherry, in 1968, and they were married on June 28, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas. Together, they built a life in Houston and Nacogdoches before settling in Missouri City in 1976.
Following his graduation, Gary built a successful career in the material handling industry, where he worked as both a salesman and manager for several forklift companies. He was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and the relationships he built throughout his career.
Gary had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, and fishing, but above all, he treasured time spent with his family and close friends. His presence, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
