

Jane Ann Lowe, 72, of Sugar Land passed away in her home on Friday, February 24, 2023. She was born in Minden, Louisiana on May 26, 1950 to John and Johnnie Deavenport. She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, John Lowe.
Ann graduated from Westbury High School in 1969. She raised her two children with an unconditional and sacrificial love. That sense of self-sacrifice carried on as she cared for her husband and many friends. She celebrated 12 years of sobriety and was famously known to her AA group as the “cake lady.” Everyone looked forward to her monthly contributions of a unique birthday cake. She was known by her friends as fun loving and for having a great sense of humor. She had a sincere heart full of gratitude to God for her many years of sobriety. Ann loved to cook and bake. The only thing she loved more was to share that passion with others. Ann’s motto in life was in order to help yourself, one must help others. Not only is she missed greatly by her numerous friends and family, but by her faithful canine companion, Archie.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, John Lowe and her parents, John and Johnnie Deavenport. She is survived by her children, Robert McElvany and Jennifer Bucklew and her grandchildren, Lindsey and Brandon McElvany and Andrew, Lydia, and Joseph Bucklew, and her sister, Jo Nell Watson, and a large extended family.
The family would like to extend a sincere word of appreciation to all who cared for Ann during her final days. Ann was tended to by Elizabeth Manriquez, Gloria Manriquez, and Cathy Nelson. These ladies made Ann’s days filled with joy, laughter, and sincere love. Vantage Hospice showed great skill and care in assuring than Ann was able to have the peaceful death she desired. In particular the hospice team of Danielle, Herman, Mary, and a multitude of bedside nurses were a tremendous blessing to her.
