

Katherine Ramonda Jancha (Kowalik) passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at age 62 in her home in Missouri City, Texas, surrounded by family. She was born in Fort Huachuaca, Arizona on March 7th,1955 to John and Jacqueline (Choltco) Kowalik. She grew up in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, the oldest of six children. After graduating from Lower Burrell High School in 1973 she worked for Gulf Oil in Harmarville, Pennsylvania. She moved to Houston to continue work for Chevron. She met George shortly after moving to Houston and they were married on October 26, 1984. Together they had two sons, Nicholas and Nathan Jancha. Growing up she was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania. She was an active parishioner of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugarland, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Kowalik, Sr. She is survived by her husband, George; sons, Nicholas and wife Amanda and Nathan Jancha; Mother, Jacqueline Kowalik; Siblings, Charles, Diane, John Jr. and wife Lisa, Paul (Mary Ann), David (Lisa); Grandson, Wade Jancha; and many nieces and nephews.
Aside from raising her two children, Katherine enjoyed counted cross stitch, photography, hiking, traveling, scrapbooking, and stamping. She spent many days watching her boys fish while cross stitching. She traveled with her family and for work across the United States and always brought back souvenirs for her boys. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a Rosary to follow on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 S. Kirkwood, Stafford Texas 77477. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home. Burial services will follow in Morton Cemetery, 401 N. 2nd Street, Richmond, Texas 77469.
